The DEVIN0 project, funded by the European Interreg ALCOTRA programme, addresses two major challenges for the wine sector: the effects of climate change, leading to wines with higher alcohol content and reduced balance, and the growing demand for low- or non-alcoholic products.
The initiative aims to transfer innovative dealcoholisation techniques and technologies to the cross-border wine sector between Italy and France, enabling producers to diversify their offer while preserving the quality and identity of local wines. Planned activities include trials on local grape varieties, physico-chemical and sensory analyses, guided tastings and training programmes for companies and professionals.
The project also stands out for its strong cross-border dimension: cooperation between research institutes, producer associations and training organisations will foster the sharing of protocols, best practices and common strategies, thereby strengthening the sector’s competitiveness and promoting local production on international markets.
DEVIN0 is coordinated by Apro Formazione, in partnership with CREA – Council for Agricultural Research and Economics, Vignaioli Piemontesi, and the Centre de Recherche et d’Expérimentation sur le Vin Rosé (France).
