MY ERASMUS PRO EXPERIENCE #19

#ErasmusPro is the new type of Erasmus designed to promote long-lasting professional training experiences. Thanks to the project "WAVES - Sail towards your future" of APRO Formazione, Francesca, Carmen and Ludovica are experiencing their #ErasmusPro in Valencia for 6 months, from January to July 2019. Each week, in turn, they will tell us how they are living this experience.

Buenos dias a todos! Que tal?

In Valencia it is really hot, so much so that we can say that the 2019 summer season can begin :) I think this sentence will create a bit of envy, because I know that in Italy it seems closer to autumn than in summer.

In addition to the summer climate, Valencia offers a lot of things to do and places to visit on weekends: from visiting the historic centre with the towers, the Cathedral, the Mercado Central, to visiting museums, taking advantage of their free entrance every Sunday.

On the other hand, if you want to spend a weekend immersed in greenery, there is no shortage of parks and gardens: most important of all is the Jardin del Turia, which is the old river bed (precisely the Turia) transformed into a very long park, with some areas destined for gym. Other parks that deserve to be visited are: the Parc Gulliver, a playground for children but also adults that, seen from above, represents the moment in which Gulliver, the protagonist of the homonymous film, was captured by the Lilliputs; the Jardin del Monforte, the perfect garden to take amazing pictures to post on social media; the Jardin de les Hesperides, in which there are statues representing the Hesperides, that is the Greek water lilies. The gardens that I listed to you are the ones I have already visited, but there are still many others that need to be discovered by my eyes.

Don't you like the idea of visiting parks? No pasa nada, you can always take the metro and the tram away and after half an hour you will arrive nothing less than the sea! If you have all the necessary with you, you can relax sunbathing on the beach and listen to the waves of the sea! Do you have a ball and friends? You can occupy one of the many beach volleyball courts and spend the afternoon playing. Are you full of energy? The right place for you is the Marina Beach: half bar, equipped with fantastic poolside chairs, and half disco with free admission (you pay only if you drink something!) Do you want to walk? The right answer to this question is the classic walk along the seafront.

If you want to get out of the city, I suggest you head to the Albufera nature reserve, a huge lake where it is characteristic to see the PUESTA DEL SOL (the sunset). There is not much to do once you get there, in less than two hours you get bored: except if you decide to go up in one of the small boats, you can go around the lake for 4 euros!

In short, Valencia is a city that even after 5 and a half months of stay never tires: it is a lively, modern, welcoming, but above all active city!

I greet you and give you an appointment at the next article!
