We start with IMPACT!

The Restaurant Hall of the APRO Formazione Cook Academy hosted the presentation meeting of the IMPACT project ("Immersion in the Cross-border Culinary Heritage") for the young people of 1st Kitchen and their families.

For the next two years these students will be the protagonists - together with their peers at the École Hôtelière in Cannes - of a new and innovative bi-national training path in the tourism-hotel sector, characterized by:

1) an important use of digital teaching methods (streaming lessons, distance training courses, video pills, webinars, etc.);

2) internships in restaurants in Alba and Cannes;

3) participation in seminars, competitions, events and educational dinners in France and in Italy.

This ambitious project was created with the aim of promoting greater employment opportunities in the cross-border territory for young people who are training to become cooks, facilitating the mobility of workers in the hotel tourism sector between the Piedmont hills and the French coast.

IMPACT is funded by Alcotra, a cooperation program between Italian and French Alpine regions, promoted by the European Commission. The program, whose name is the acronym of "Alpi Latine COoperazione TRAnsfrontaliera", was born in 1990 and is now in its fifth programming period (2014-2020); since its establishment, ALCOTRA has financed almost 600 projects.

After this first presentation of the project to the students involved and their families, the next event will be the official launching seminar scheduled for 29 June 2018 in Cannes. A bientot!
