OPENIN – Open Source Applications for Industrial Automation 2007 - 2009

The project OPENIN aims at training future employees of the industrial sector, trainers of VET and Higher Education Institutions, and companies staff on free open source hardware and software for designing automated systems.

Apro Formazione develops, in cooperation with partners from Spain, Portugal and Greece, two training courses:

  1. OPENIN Course for students in Industrial Automation about industrial sensors and communication using Open Source Applications
  2. OPENIN training course for teachers and employers with the purpose to prepare them for applying open source applications in their schools/ companies.

The OPENIN project aims in general to:

- Analyze the educational possibilities offered by free hardware and software in the field of industrial automation;

- Create quality and innovative teaching materials for vocational training institutes, universities and companies that use automation systems;

- Develop a working methodology that leads to common and shared criteria in the design of automation systems.
